Marshall Kaiser
1938-2002
Born and raised in Sydney, Marshall's career with Co-operators Insurance would take him to Moncton, NB before he returned to finish his career in Baddeck. He and his wife, Evelyn, stayed in Baddeck after retirement.

There was no slowing him down in retirement however, as he joined many clubs and gave his time to many projects. He was instrumental in setting up the Highland Credit Union in our present Co-op, as well as moving the Victoria Farmers Co-op to its present location. And, of course, he would become an active member and director of the Baddeck Curling Club.

Marshall's presidency of the Curling Club (1996-2001) spanned the years in which the new clubhouse was planned, built, and put to use. He celebrated its arrival with all the members and curled on the new ice for only the first year or two.

Marshall died of cancer in March of 2002 at the age of 63. The following year, a bonspiel was named in his honour as our way of saying thanks to a man who did so much for our club.
